On May 17th ALAS brought together over thirty of the world’s leading Latin music artists in two momentous concerts as a call-to-action to aid impoverished children in Latin America. These historic concerts were held simultaneously in Mexico City and Buenos Aires and were free to the public as the goal of the concerts was not to raise money; bringing together thousands of music fans in two large arenas allowed ALAS to harness the power needed to start a social movement which will support the ALAS mission of strengthening and expanding public and private sector support for Early Childhood Development in Latin America.

Improving the lives of thirty-two million Latin American children afflicted by poverty will require the integrated education, nutrition and health programs characterized by Early Childhood Development (ECD). ALAS was created by the leading artists, intellectual figures and business leaders of Latin America to launch a new social movement that will generate a collective commitment to ECD by encouraging government, private and public action while partnering with innovative organizations to create sustainable solutions. Bringing together public and private partnerships to work in unison will generate long-term success.

We would like to invite you to view this historic event: a dramatic first step that will is quickly becoming a social movement on behalf of Latin America's next generation. Together we can give these once-forgotten children a chance to fly.
